Hyperprolactinemia in patients with chronic kidney disease

Despite rapid progress in improving dialysis technology recent years, mortality hemodialysis (HD) patients remains quite high. The main reasons are cardiovascular disease. search of factors that associated with an increased risk adverse clinical events chronic kidney disease (CKD) is urgent problem modern nephrology.
 Prolactin (PL) a unique hormone can perform the functions both and neuropeptide. Among CKD, frequency hyperprolactinemia (HPL) increases decreasing glomerular filtration rate (GFR). There moderate HPL due to impaired degradation PL kidneys. Hemodialysis does not affect level PL. A negative correlation between levels GFR, albumin Hb shown studies. Serum positively correlated blood pressure events.
 relatively high prevalence particularly population, there uncertainty about consequences this condition for cohort patients. Further studies needed study effects on outcomes CKD. If causal relationship outcomes, particular events, shown, may be potential target therapeutic interventions.
